FFEC3625US
Frigidaire FFEC3625US Electric Cooktop Repair

Most common issues on this model
- Expandable element where the outer ring does not heat
- Keep warm zone that never warms
- Element that shuts off during cooking
- Selector or switch connections behind the controls
The FFEC3625US is a 36-inch electric cooktop with five radiant elements, including a 3,000W quick boil element, a keep warm zone and a SpaceWise expandable element. It also has a hot surface indicator. The extra width suits larger kitchens where one cooktop handles most of the cooking.
The expandable element is the first thing we test when a pan heats only in the center. It has two rings, and the outer ring runs through its own switch position, so one half can fail while the other still works. The keep warm zone is low power, which makes a loose connection easy to miss, so we check its wiring as well.
When an element shuts off by itself mid-cook, we look at the limiter in the element and the heat at the terminals. We read the model and serial from the label before ordering anything, and we explain the cost before any work starts.

- SpaceWise expandable element
- Hot surface indicator
Why does only the center of my expandable element heat?
The outer ring has its own switch contact and heating coil. If the center works and the outer ring does not, one of those parts has failed. We test both and quote only what is needed.
My keep warm zone never gets warm. What do you check?
We check the zone's element, its connection and the control that powers it. Because it runs at low heat, it can look dead when the problem is only a loose terminal. We confirm with a meter.
Is a five-element 36-inch cooktop worth repairing?
Usually yes for a single element or switch, since those parts are not costly. If the glass is cracked or several elements have failed, we tell you straight and let you compare against replacement.
